JOHNNY CUELLAR

JOHNNY CUELLAR Johnny Juarez Cuellar, 96, passed away peacefully July 12, 2013, in Boulder City. He was born in San Antonio, May 16, 1917, to David Sr. and Carmen Cuellar. Fourth in a family of five children, he and his siblings Jose, David Jr., Richard and Nora were 'The Cuellars' of Simon St. in San Antonio. Johnny later served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 1972 as a senior master sergeant. He married Toyoko Yamada March 19, 1958, at Saint Phillip's Catholic Church in San Antonio. Johnny is survived by his wife, Toyoko Cuellar of Las Vegas; his sister, Nora (Martin) Herrera of Yuma, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Johnny lived life to the fullest, loved a good laugh and was a friend to many. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at the Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way. Funeral mass will be at 8 a.m. Friday, July 19, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive. Burial following at 9:20 a.m. at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.
