CAROLYN THOMPSON Carolyn Eleanor Thompson, 76, of Boulder City, and formerly of Tacoma, Wash., passed away Aug. 19, 2014, in Las Vegas. She was born June 5, 1938, in Seattle, to Clarence and Josephine Nielsen. She married Martin Thompson June 27, 1959, in Seattle. She cherished her family and was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Carolyn had a strong faith and was a member and choir member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Boulder City. She volunteered her talents as a quilter and seamstress in making prayer shawls for those in need. She loved music, taught piano lessons for many years, and was a member of the Music Teachers Association. As an artist, she also enjoyed water color painting. She loved gatherings with family and friends and was always prepared to cook for a crowd. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Martin Thompson; three children, Donald (Marilyn) Thompson, Lois (Paul) Klouse and Robert (Lorraine) Thompson; brother, Jim (Carrie) Nielsen; sister, Janet (Steve) Lynch; and eight grandchildren, Evan, Aubrey and Braden Klouse and Megan, Lynette, and Elisa, Samuel and Danielle Thompson. Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at St. Andrew's Catholic Community Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City. Burial will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.
