Frank Hunter Obituary
FRANK ALLEN HUNTER Frank Hunter, 80, of Boulder City, passed away at his home on October 29, 2017 surrounded by members of his family. He was born February 24, 1937 in West Plains, Missouri to Frank Montgomery and Elizabeth Jospephine (Jody) Hunter. His family moved to St. Ann, Missouri where he graduated from Pattonville High School. He attended the University of Missouri where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. While he was still in college he married the love of his life, Carol Ruth Kinsland on December 27, 1956. Upon graduating from college, Frank began his career with the Bureau of Reclamation where he worked for over 30 years. During his career he worked at various locations throughout Wyoming, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico and the Ashwan Dam in Egypt. After retiring from the Bureau they moved back to Boulder City where they lived for the past 21 years. Frank was a loving family man and avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time with his family and took great joy in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors. Whether it was with a fly rod on a small stream up in the high country of Colorado, stalking big game through the woods, or playing a round of golf, he felt at home when he was outside. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Miriam Louise (Mimi) May, and grandson Tyler Robert Hunter. He is survived by his wife Carol, children Robert Curry and Donna Hunter, Constance Joan and Ken Elmore, Lisa Kay and Aric Boston, Pamela Jean Hunter, Frank Allen Hunter II, and his brother Thomas Curry and Trish Hunter. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and two great-great grandchildren. There will be a celebration of life on January 13, 2018. Anyone interested in attending the celebration of life, please contact a family member by the end of December for details.
