FREDRICK IMBODEN Obituary
FREDRICK IMBODEN Fredrick "Rick" W. Imboden passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2016. He was born Sept. 19, 1941, to William Neil and Ima Ruth Imboden, in San Bernardino, Calif. Rick spent his youth in various cities in Southern California before his family moved to Temple City, Calif., where he graduated from Temple City High School in 1959. Rick worked in construction before going to work for Southern California Edison as an apprentice electrician in 1961, eventually working his way up to journeyman electrician and test technician at Eldorado Substation in Boulder City. Rick married Deanna Rowan June 25, 1966 in Temple City. Rick was a member of both the U.S. Army Reserve and the U.S. Air Force Reserve, where he received honorable discharges from both. He loved boating, surfing, and water skiing, including water ski racing. After moving to Boulder City in 1974, Rick joined Jaycees and was very much involved in community events. As his two children, Tania and Todd, grew, he helped coach many youth recreation teams as well as play on several adult teams. He was proud of their children and enjoyed watching them compete in various sports and excel in school and life. Rick continued his love of water sports and added bowling, golfing, snow skiing, and flying radio-controlled airplanes to his list of hobbies. In the late 1980's, Todd got his family interested in water ski racing again. Rick won several year-end trophies as Stock Boat driver of the year. He was one who always had to have a project. During the past forty years, he could always be found in his garage doing wrought iron, woodworking, or working on his planes. After retiring from Edison at an early age, he became a regular at the Boulder City Golf Couse. He was very proud of the fact that he and his wife, Deanna, had golfed together in every state in the nation. Rick was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Noel Trostle. He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Deanna; his daughter, Tania Ondrejka, her husband Paul, and their children, Zachary and Lauren; and his son, Todd, his wife Tara, and their son, Alec, all of whom he was very proud of and loved very much.
