JOYCE LEHR Obituary
JOYCE LEHR Joyce Jean Lehr passed away peacefully Dec. 24, 2016. She was born March 4, 1936, to Ada Bernice and Russell Burt Willard in Lincoln, Neb. She graduated from the University of Nebraska and married John Lehr Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 1959. The two of them began an adventure of teaching overseas on military bases. They lived and taught in Germany, Japan, Cuba, and Bermuda before settling in Boulder City in 1979. Joyce worked for many years and made many good friends at The Bureau of Reclamation in Boulder City. Joyce was known for her love of sweets, shopping and all things that sparkled. Her grandchildren knew they could always count on her for a soft-serve ice cream cone! Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Leola Slipsager, and her husband, John Lehr. She is survived by her brother, Walt (Alice) Willard of Yorba Linda, Calif.; daughter, LoreLei (Tom) Reid of Reno; her son, Torii (Kelly) Lehr of Boulder City; her companion, David Palmer of Henderson; and her four grandchildren, Lauren, Gray, Alea and Ty. Joyce was laid to rest Thursday, Jan. 5, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite charity, Safe Nest.
