THOMAS MCELHINEY Obituary
THOMAS MCELHINEY Longtime Boulder City resident Thomas A. McElhiney passed away Sept. 16, 2016, at Infinity Hospice. Thomas was born Nov. 3, 1925, in Cincinnati, the son of the late Thomas D. and Dorothy L. McElhiney. Thomas served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a tail gunner on B-17's in the European Theater during World War II, attaining the rank of sergeant. Thomas is survived by three cousins, Karen L. Burke of Charlotte, N.C., Dan Spafford of Rockville, Md., and Alan Durfee of Florida. Thomas was a long-time radio controlled airplane builder and flyer and turned something he loved to do into an occupation. At Thomas's request, no services are scheduled. Burial will be private in the family plot at Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. At this time, the family would like to thank Infinity Hospice, Meals-on-Wheels, Bunkers Mortuary, Boulder City Cemetery and longtime friend, Donald Weitz for all their assistance and kindness. Memorial donations in Thomas' name may be made to Meals-on-Wheels.
