DR. CHRIS KOLAR Dr. Althea Christine Kolar (Chris) passed away unexpectedly February 23, 2020. A resident of Boulder City, Nevada since 2006, she was born August 29, 1941 in Seattle, WA, and was preceded in death by her father, Otto Frederick Kolar, and her mother Althea Christine Kolar, both of Seattle, WA. Chris is survived her brother, Robert Kolar, of Boulder City, NV. An expert in Special Education, Chris was a highly respected academic and educator. She changed the lives of the many students she touched. She taught at several institutions throughout the western US including Long Beach Unified SD, University of Toledo, and Cal Poly. On Saturday, Aug.14 at 11:00am, there will be a Memorial Service at Grace Community Church in Boulder City, NV followed by a celebration of her life. Chris loved sunflowers, so friends are invited to send sunflowers in remembrance of her to decorate the church.
