I always admired Cokie Roberts and her political commentaries. She did herself proud and helped the cause of women in American journalism for a number of years. I was looking forward to her comments when the 2020 presidential election season got underway. Sadly, that is not to be. I will miss Cokie very much in the days ahead.

Steve, Lee, Rebecca, and All Family,

Its with saddened hearts that we learn of Cokies passing, and we send our deepest sympathy and condolences to you during this most difficult time.

Cokie will be remembered, and all her positive qualities and activities will also be remembered. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, generosity, vivacious personality and love of life. Her infectious smile and vibrant personality and upbeat spirit could definitely light up any room. Cokies numerous accomplishments as an award-winning legendary journalist and pioneer, commentator, and author are written in the annals of journalism and history to be an inspiration in years to come.

As I watched and listened to her on television, her unique authoritative voice commanded and captivated my full attention. Cokie, we thank you for your kindness. You are sorely missed.

May prayers strengthen you and cherished memories comfort you, and may Gods loyal love please comfort and sustain you. Psalm 23

I am sorry for your loss. Cokie was loved by many, she will be greatly missed.

We saw Cokie last at the Louisiana Book Festival, in Baton Rough, three years ago, and talked then about her late Mother ~ every New Orleanian's friend, Lindy Boggs. I bought an older book (1998) of Cokie's for my Sister, WE ARE OUR MOTHER'S DAUGHTERS.

I was born the same year as Cokie, and it is heartening, if not true, to hear how young that is to be passing on to the great editor in the sky. We will miss you, mon amie, for however many years we have left, and then maybe get you to help us edit that book on... ~ LEJ.org

Condolences to the family of Cokie Roberts. My Mom and my aunt's attended St Louis Cathedral School in New Orleans. Two of my aunt's became Teresian Sisters and taught school there. My Mom worked there as the school secretary. They all knew Lindy who lived a few blocks away and thought highly of her. They have all passed on. Welcome to the great reunion in heaven. I know that had a big party in heaven for Cokie.

I am very saddened at the passing of Cokie Roberts. Although I have never met her in person, she always manifest an aura of Southern decorum, Catholic ethics, and political experience the many times I viewed her on television. I join Louisiana, Washington DC, the country, her husband Steven, her children & and grandchildren, and all her professional friends in recognizing our great loss, and sorrow. We all should strive to be more like"Cokie" in our humanity, fairness to others, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religious affiliation, and political leaning. Somehow I expect that Cokie is looking down from above, with her mom and dad, and others, smiling her great smile, and wishing us all well and common purpose. Sadly but fondly, Michael King, Long Island New York.

I'm genuinely sorry to hear of Ms Roberts' passing. I liked her. She was knowledgeable and always enjoyable to listen to, never rude or offensive. Very smart. She will be missed. My condolences to her family and friends.

There is a big void in the world without Cokie. I feel like I lost a friend who I'd visit every day. She was insightful and calming. Washington needs her unerring compass more than ever. Sadly, it seems funerals are the only thing left to bring people of all ideologies together. I use the internet to keep people alive. We need her wise words replaying often. All my thoughts are with her wonderful family. I followed Steve's NYT byline for 25 years.

I remember Cokie for what was undoubtedly her most cherished role--that of a mother. I had the privilege of teaching her children, Lee and Rebecca, in sixth grade. At a time when Cokie was busy getting her journalistic career started, she still made time to attend PTA meetings, parent conferences (with her husband, Steve), and other important school functions. On "Career Day", she even spoke to my sixth grade class. A couple of weeks later, it was obvious that she had made a powerful impression on these girls when several of them came dressed in their finest "professional" outfits, carrying notepads and tape recorders, to portray Mrs. Roberts in our school Halloween parade.

Lee and Rebecca, as excellent students and the delightful young people that they were, demonstrated clearly what can be achieved when education and character are most highly valued by their parents. I know Cokie was very proud of the wonderful families they are raising today and the successful careers they are pursuing.

On a personal note, twice, in the years that followed our parent-teacher relationship, I was happily surprised to run into Cokie--once at the Kennedy Center and another time when I attended her "Ladies of Liberty" book talk. Each time, she recognized me and called me by name. I felt truly honored to be remembered by someone so accomplished in so many areas, and someone that I have greatly admired these many years.

My sincere sympathy to Cokie's family, especially to Steve, Lee, and Rebecca.

Our condolences to Steve and all of the Roberts family. Cokie was such a special lady. We will miss her but never forget her. She was a mentor to our daughter Annie and a dear friend of ours. She was with us in Laredo to celebrate Annie's wedding and with us in D.C. for the birth of our first grandchild. It was always such a pleasure to be with her from time to time over the years. Her passing leaves a void in first rate journalism.

Hope. Inspiration. Education. Consolation. Cokie brought all of these things. I grew up listening to her on NPR. She had a unique broadcast voice - conversational, measured, thoughtful, never pedantic - that signaled intelligence and trustworthiness. We all learned so much from her. I have never had the good fortune to meet her in person, but I am very sad that we have lost her, and will miss her conversations in the way I miss phone calls with my mother when she was alive. God Bless You Cokie, and God bless your family.

Both Joe & I want to express our sincerest condolences to the family of Cokie Roberts. The country and indeed the world ,will be less one of the best woman; her journalistic honesty and generous community service will echo for some time. Our family particularly felt her extreme kindness ,by her support of Fr. Angelo D'Agostino, SJMD's mission for the sick children of Kenya. May God bless her and her family.

She was an incredible role model for everyone, but especially for women. I saw her as a strong woman in a man's world and she held her own. What I will miss, other than hearing her viewpoints, will be her amazing smile. It lit up the screen and any room she entered. How she will be missed but as others have said, she will never be forgotten. Prayers to her family as they take this journey without her...
