1927 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
HOWARD BOOTH Howard Booth, of Boulder City, passed away Aug. 16, 2017. He was born March 15, 1927, in Bloomsburg, Pa., to Thornly Booth and Myra Freestone. He grew up in Manasquan, N.J., attended R.P.I. before enlisting in the U.S. Army and served in Italy during World War II, then joined the U.S. Air Force and was deployed in the Korean War. With his degrees in Meteorology, he spent his career at the Nevada Test Site from 1957 to 1983. Howard is survived by his wife, Ursula Wilson-Booth of Boulder City, and her children, Hans and Sonya Wilson of Las Vegas; and nieces, Elena Booth and her husband, Dave Gillespie and Susan Rapp, both of the East Coast. Howard was a fierce defender of natural places, especially Red Rock and an active environmentalist until his death. Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, in Boulder City.
