1932 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
MARTIN THOMPSON Martin O. Thompson, 85, of Boulder City, and formerly of Tacoma, Wash., passed away Sept. 30, 2017. He was born July 29, 1932, in Tacoma, to Ordin and Susanna Thompson. Martin was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy; and the love of his life, and wife, of 55 years, Carolyn. Following service in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, as an Aviation Storekeeper, he graduated from Pacific Lutheran University. Martin worked at the Boeing Company before starting his career as a bookkeeping and accounting instructor at Bates Technical College in Tacoma. Martin was a wonderful father and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, golfer and woodcarver. His quick wit and smile will be missed by many. Martin is survived by his three children, Donald (Marilyn) Thompson, Lois (Paul) Klouse and Robert (Lorraine) Thompson; and eight grandchildren, Evan, Aubrey and Braden Klouse and Megan, Lynette, Elisa, Samuel and Danielle Thompson. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 26, at St. Andrews Catholic Community Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City. Honor Guard and burial will follow at Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.
