1947 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
PAMELA GOVE Pamela Gove, 71 passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018, in Boulder City. Pam was born February 15, 1947, in Millersburg, Ohio, to Eugene and Naomi VanMeter. She grew up in Angola, Ind., and was actively involved in her 4-H club. Her ambition was to be an elementary school teacher. Pam graduated from Angola High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in education from Purdue University in 1968 and a master's degree from Western Michigan in 1972. Pam taught at several elementary schools in Michigan (Amerman), Ohio (Washington and Campbell), Arizona (Hualapai) and Nevada (Mountain View, Robert Taylor and Hinman Elementary) before retiring from the Clark County School District in Nevada, in 2008. Pam married Alan Gove August 17, 1968, in Angola, Indiana. They relocated several times before moving to Nevada, in 1986. Pam was very active in her daughter's and grandchildren's lives. She was a Girl Scout leader not only for her daughter's troops in Ohio and Arizona, but also for her granddaughter's troop in Boulder City. Pam spent many years helping with the International Order of Rainbow for Girls (IORG) and the Order of Eastern Star (OES) where her daughter was a member. She was a devoted supporter of all her family and their activities. She enjoyed travelling, scrapbooking, and back-to-school shopping with her grandchildren. Pam is survived by her husband, Alan; brother, Donald (Lorna) VanMeter of Colorado; daughter, Sacha (Karl) Huysentruyt of Boulder City; and two grandchildren. Services will be private. Her family appreciates all thoughts and prayers as she will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.
