PAUL DE BAUGH Paul DeBaugh, 98, of Boulder City, passed away Thursday May 2, 2019 at home. He was born August 12, 1920, in Columbus, OH, to Harold A. and Blanche (Hawkinson) DeBaugh. He grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from Beverly Hills High School. After his father's death the DeBaughs moved to the family farm in Galesburg IL in 1939. He married Genevieve 'Ginny' Olsen in 1946. She died in 1972. He married Rita Shambarger in 1976; she died in 1999. He later married Dorothy Johnson; she died in 2015. While his brother Richard was in the U.S. Army in World War ll, Paul worked the family farm on Fremont Road and attended Knox College in Galesburg. He longed for the west, returning to CA in 1946 where he began a long career with Southern California Edison Power. He transferred to the Edison operation at Hoover Dam in the 1970s, living the remainder of his life in Boulder City. Paul was an avid golfer, playing until his 98th birthday. He said many times that the smartest thing he ever did was marrying Rita, with whom he shared his happiest years. Paul was humble, unassuming, with a peaceful nature and always a true gentleman. He is survived by his nephew, Alan DeBaugh (Brian); great nephews, Ryan DeBaugh and Brad DeBaugh; stepsons, Brad Shambarger (CJ) and Kevin Shambarger (Carol); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Per his wishes, there will be no services. His ashes will be buried in Hope Cemetery in Galesburg, IL.
