ROBERT KRAUSE Robert F. Krause (a.k.a. Fire Bob) passed away in his Boulder City home on Sunday, August 23rd, 2020 at the age of 81 after a valiant battle with cancer. A 25-year resident of Boulder City, Bob was born in Detroit, Michigan to parents John and Helen (Gardocki) Krause. He grew up in Lincoln Park, Michigan and graduated from LPHS in 1958. He joined the U.S. Army and after his discharge, he was hired at the Lincoln Park Fire Department, where he worked his way up the ranks and retired as Captain after 28 years of service. Bob and his wife of 57 years, Theresa, moved to Boulder City after his retirement and never regretted the move. He was a lifetime member of the B.C. Elks Lodge #1682 and was named Elk of the Year in 2005. He loved to golf and enjoyed it until just before his death. He was a member of the Winterwood Men's Golf Association for a good number of years. Bob also enjoyed watching football on the weekends; he was a big fan of the Detroit Lions. Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, John ("Jack"). He is survived and dearly missed by his wife and two sons, Robert (Darlene) and Michael (Sharon), whom he is extremely proud of; 5 grandchildren, Corey, Kyle, Alyssa, and twins Courtney and Chad; and two great-grandchildren, Haisley and Isabella. Cremation will be handled by Palm Mortuary and he will be interred at the Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. A memorial service will be held at a later date due to the coronavirus pandemic.
